Garden Club News

yard of the month1yard of the month2The Yard of the Month is the beautifully decorated yard of Mr. & Mrs. Bobby Darley located at 3789 SCR 83.  Their post are wrapped with red ribbon and wreaths on every window.  Seasonal pansies are planted for color and accents the landscape.    The Taylorsville Garden Club celebrated 60 years as a federated garden club this year. Guest visiting the Depot after the Christmas parade were able to view all the yearbooks and awards that the club has won through the years.  The Taylorsville Garden club served hot chocolate to the visitors.

Donors Recognized

Solar Hardware has donated one grill to the Town of Taylorsville.  Southern Pine made a donation for one grill, also.  We need to purchase two more grills for the pavilion.  Please make your donations to the Town of Taylorsville.  Pictured Debbie Boykin, Mayor Rosalyn Glenn, and Debbie Jordan from Solar Hardware. 

Christmas Parade Winners Announced

The Town of Taylorsville hosted it’s first nightime parade on Dec. 9th.  The winners are:

1st place – New Zion M.B. Church
2nd place – Green Sprouts Garden Club
3rd place Liberty Baptist Church.

Our Grand Marshall’s were the 2A State Baseball Champions of 2011.  Santa made an appearance at the Depot after the parade.   Fellowship Baptist Church served apple cider and everyone received a candy cane.  The Taylorsville Garden Club and Green Sprouts Garden Club served hot chocolate and cookies to all the guest.  Thanks to all who participated in all the events.
