Mayor’s Message

The Town of Taylorsville held its regular meeting on November 3, 2011. Ms Tamekia Baker with Ms. Tobacco Free Coalition was scheduled to be our guest speaker but due to illness will be present next month. The fire department had concerns about people parking around the fire station. No one is blocking the fire trucks but the problem is allowing the firemen access to the building. The board is asking anyone who uses the walking track to park behind town hall. Also, if the Depot is being used, please don’t use the fire station for parking. It is very important for the firemen to park and get to the fire trucks as quickly as possible, minutes do count when they have a call.

For the past month we have been preparing for the “Grillin & Chillin” Festival. Taylorsville Poultry donated the round bales of hay for the turkeys, Taylorsville Farm Supply donated small bales of hay and pumpkins, Georgia Pacific donated picnic tables, and Southern Pine donated wooden spools and  the Taylorsville Garden decorated with bows and flowers. Thanks to all of the volunteers that have given of their time.

We are in the process of asking for donations to build new grills for the pavilion. The old grills served us for many years and different organizations used the grills for fundraisers. If you would like to make a donation, please make your check payable to The Town of Taylorsville with reference to the grills. Please call 601 785-6532, if you have any questions or problems.
