Mayor Rosalyn Glenn was sworn in June 30 by outgoing Mayor Larry Kelly during a ceremony at the Train Depot. Rosalyn is Taylorsville's first elected woman mayor. During her speech in closing,Rosalyn expressed her intent to conduct her duties as mayor to the best of her ability.

The Board was sworn in by outgoing Mayor Larry Kelly during a ceremony at the Depot on Tuesday Evening, June 30. The new mayor and board will officially begin their administration on July 6, 09.

The outgoing mayor and board of aldermen are photographed at the site of the new Taylorsville Town Hall planned and begun during their administration. It will be located beside the Fire Station and walking track. TLW Construction out of Columbia received the bid and should begin within the next month, after foundation work is complete. Estimated completion date is late 2009.

An informative presentation was given at Rotary Club on Thurs. 6-18, by Christie Brady, Development Coordinator from the DuBard School for Language Disorders at USM. Their mission is "Giving the Gift of Language". The school offers a highly successful method of teaching to correct learning and language disabilties with a variety of services and levels of learning.
